Teens English Lessons

OOS – Natural English Services offers English lessons for teenagers intending to their level of English competency and communication skill high enough so their Junior High and High-School English classes will be easy in comparison. This is done with gentle correction techniques in a low-stress environment where they can comfortably assimilate language structures.

We offer the opportunity for them to develop a strong foundation in English so that by the time they reach university, they will easily be able to communicate in English way beyond the basic level.

Employing natural methods of language acquisition, we will create a comfortable environment to quickly learn how to communicate in English without feeling so much like they are studying. The method we employ for teen lessons is roughly 50/50 conversation-based combined with structured practice, however, this can be customized to raise or lower the level of structured practice during class.

The topics will focus on things that interest the student and they will be encouraged to speak freely and get a lot of practice learning to express themselves in English. If the student has strong interests in certain areas like sports, gaming, comics, etc., the subject matter can also be turned into a lesson.

During each lesson, we are able to help with any homework or coursework they may be doing at school. Also, we can provide test prep and practice for exams like TOEIC, TEFL, or any other official English exams they may be preparing for.

Lesson Materials: 

OOS – Natural English Services style lessons with a choice combination between conversation-based and structured practice. During structured practice, on-screen OOS activities will be displayed in addition to flashcards, videos, and other materials. If an actual textbook is desired, the student can choose any available English text to their liking.

Lesson Structure: 

Light, medium, or heavy (your choice)

You can choose how much structure you would like.

If you choose LIGHT, then you will get a conversation-based lesson with some structured practice worked into it.

If you choose MEDIUM, then you will get a lesson that is 50/50 between conversationally-based and structured practice.

If you choose HEAVY, then you will get a lesson that is very structured with lots of drills, grammar practice, role-plays, reading, Q&A, activities etc.

Level of Correction:  

 You set the amount of correction the teacher will make with you in the lesson.

Choose from no correction, a little correction, moderate correction, heavy correction or to correct everything.

**NOTE: if you select “no correction” then this lesson becomes a free-conversation lesson.  In a no-correction lesson, corrections are done subtly by example which encourages the student to self-correct and be alert to their own mistakes.**

Venue:

At this time, we are exclusively offering convenient online lessons which require a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection. In the future, we may offer in-person, face-to-face, or in-house lessons.

Online lessons offer great convenience and flexibility and save both time and money for all parties involved. Online language lessons are a new phenomenon whose effectivity and teaching structure continue to rapidly evolve.  See how well online lessons can conveniently snap into your lifestyle and give you a lot of extra time to do other things you need to do.

These lessons will be conducted via Skype, Zoom, or other such online video meeting systems. You are free to choose which one works best for you.
