How will this work?

The subject matter you choose for your lesson will be the center topic of focus. The teacher will help you build the language structures you need to communicate about that topic in whatever way interests you.

In some cases, if you wish, you will play the role of the teacher about that subject if you have a lot of knowledge or interest in it if the teacher doesn’t know too much about that subject. This will give you many opportunities to speak. If you have difficulties, it is our role to provide English instruction to give you the tools to accomplish saying anything you want to say.

The more interested you are in the subject, the quicker you will learn and the longer you will retain the language. If the lesson topics are uninteresting or irrelevant to your life then it will be much harder to retain the knowledge you learn. So, help us make things interesting for you in class, and don’t hesitate to choose whatever is most interesting and fun for you each time.

Level of Study:  

Upper beginner –> Advanced

You can choose your own topic material even if you are a beginner. However, it is advisable to at least have learned a little bit of some basics of the English language first. But even as an absolute beginner, you can still choose your own topic material if you like.

Class Size:                         1 -> 4 (Contact us for inquiries if you would like a larger group lesson)

Lesson Materials:           Custom (your choice)

Lesson Structure:

Light, medium, or heavy (your choice)

You can choose how much structure you would like:

If you choose LIGHT, then you will get a conversation-based lesson with some structured practice worked into it.

If you choose MEDIUM, then you will get a lesson that is 50/50 between conversationally-based and structured practice

If you choose HEAVY, then you will get a lesson that is very structured with lots of drills, grammar practice, role-plays, reading, Q&A, activities, etc.

Level of Correction:

 You set the amount of correction the teacher will make with you in the lesson.

Choose from no correction, a little correction, moderate correction, heavy correction or to correct everything.

**NOTE: if you select “no correction” then this lesson becomes a free-conversation lesson.  In a no-correction lesson, corrections are done subtly by example which encourages the student to self-correct and be alert to their own mistakes.**

At this time, we are exclusively offering convenient online lessons which require a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection. In the future, we may offer in-person, face-to-face, or in-house lessons.

Online lessons offer great convenience and flexibility and save both time and money for all parties involved. Online language lessons are a new phenomenon whose effectivity and teaching structure continue to rapidly evolve.  See how well online lessons can conveniently snap into your lifestyle and give you a lot of extra time to do other things you need to do.

These lessons will be conducted via Skype, Zoom, or other such online video meeting systems. You are free to choose which one works best for you.
