The main goal of OOS – Natural English Services is to help you learn English smoothly in a manner that was similar to how you learned your first native language as a baby.  We emphasize natural methods of language acquisition.

We believe many of the methods employed by the modern education system are inefficient. Such methods include lectures without much interaction between teacher and students, memorization of large amounts of information, and failure to recognize that each student has individual needs, so the learning approach will be different and should be customized and adapted to suit the individual student. We take all of these into account.

OOS – Natural English Services employs simple but effective methods to try to hold your interest and at the same time hand you the tools you need to develop your English-speaking ability smoothly. Through conversation-based lessons, we hope to create a need and a desire in you to communicate and express yourself. If you need certain language forms to communicate or express yourself, you will learn much more quickly, efficiently, and enjoyably than if you sat down and tried to force yourself to memorize language structures, rules, and vocabulary.

Fully Customizable Lessons to Suit Your Needs / Preferences

We do not present a syllabus of topics and information that we force you through class by class. It is important that you are interested in the content and subject matter of your lessons. This is why we prefer to customize your lessons with you to come up with a good balance that keeps you interested and helps you learn smoothly and enjoyably. This ensures you don’t waste a lot of time and money studying textbook topics with English that you may never use again.

We encourage you to be open with your teacher and freely say if you would like to skip certain exercises or practice something different because they may not be relevant to you or you may not be interested.

Almost any topic can be made into an English lesson including exercise, cooking, movies, internet surfing or even playing an instrument. What interests you? That is what we will turn into the basis of your lesson to develop your speaking ability.

Also, do you have certain things you would like to study in your class? Maybe you would like to write journal entries and have them checked or discussed as a class topic? Maybe you often write emails in English and would like to correct them or have them proofread? Maybe you will be taking a test such as TOEIC or TOEFL and want to do exercises in your book during the class? Maybe you are changing jobs and need to introduce yourself or your product in English? Maybe you need interview practice? Pretty much anything can be the topic and focus of a class and we encourage you to make any requests as you like at any time to customize your lessons in any way that fits your needs and interests. Don’t hesitate to ask!

However, if you don’t like being able to customize or make changes in your lessons, that’s no problem. We can arrange all topics and activities for you if you prefer not to have to come up with ideas. Either way is fine. Just be open to freely communicating with us and let us know your preferences.

Book Convenient 30-Minute Slots of Study Time

You can freely choose how long or short your lessons will be. Maybe you’d like just some light study each time? Then just select a single 30-minute time slot to study at any available opening on the booking calendar.

Perhaps you would like a longer amount of study time like 1 or 2 hours long? Then book as many 30-minute slots in a row as you would like. You will always have the option for a break in-between each lesson if you need one. For those who need a unit smaller than 30-minute time blocks, we also offer 15-minute time blocks so you can have a 45 or 75-minute class, etc. In this case, contact us directly for reservations.

No Contracts or Commitments Necessary

Unlike the traditional eikaiwa English conversation school, we will never try to force you into a contract or make you buy large numbers of lessons in advance unless you want to.  You are free to book and pay each time with no commitment. We understand that people’s schedules may be busy and you may choose to study for some time and then stop or take a break. With us, you can do this guilt-free as you are bound to no obligation. Feel free to study as much or as little as you like. We do however offer packs of lessons at a discount, but you are always free to pay per lesson if you like.

Online Lessons for Convenience and Safety

At this time all of our lessons and services are offered only online for your safety and convenience, which means you can access our services and lessons from anywhere that has a stable internet connection. In the future, we may offer face-to-face lessons when the pandemic is safely over.

Flexible Cancellation Policy

We would appreciate 24 hours of advance notice for cancellations of a lesson. This can be done by notifying us through email etc. We understand some students may have special situations. In this case, talk to us and we will try to reach an arrangement that best suits both of us.
