We are a small company with a love for crystals and gemstones. We have seen the beneficial healing and life enhancing effects they offer, and are convinced that the power of gemstones and crystals is definitely not a pseudoscience when approached in an honest and straightforward manner.
At first, our crystal and gemstone accessories were made for our personal use only, but later it expanded to friends and family and then casual customers started increasing bit by bit. In 2020 we decided to take our small business online with the launch of our website.
Every one of our original designs is made by hand and crafted for healing, life enhancement and style. We wish to offer our designs to everyone and hope you will find something you love among our selections that will serve you well for many years to come.
We are originally from New York, USA but relocated to Tokyo, Japan in 2011. The family history has been involved in the gemstone and jewelry business for 75 years (in 2024). Since 1949 the family name has been built on trust and community relations, maintaining a standard for quality and honest business practices.
OneOriginStarseed as the 3rd generation, is just a small extension of that legacy and we wholeheartedly intend to continue to build on the foundation that was laid down before us.
Quality:
When we design and assemble each piece, we make them as if we were making it for ourselves. In fact, many of our designs were originally made for our own use. A lot of love and care goes into our designs and we enjoy what we do. We always aim for the highest quality grade (AAA) gemstones we can source within a reasonable range of cost-efficiency. For example, for some rarer crystals and gemstones such as turquoise, we are unable to offer the highest quality grade as the prices are far higher for such stones, than what the average customer is willing to pay. In this case we generally need to step it down a notch or two. If, however, you would like the absolute highest grade we can source, it’s no problem, please contact us with your inquiry and we will get you what you need! The vast majority of the stones we use however are A to AAA grade.

We have found to our disappointment, that the gemstone and crystal market has been flooded with fakes, alterations and enhancements for many years now. As stated previously, our original designs were mainly for our personal use and the occasional gift. Because the effects of the crystals were the most important aspects of our designs, obtaining true natural crystals and gemstones was something we could never compromise. This standard is maintained even today with every piece we make. For us, it is very important to keep as close to nature as possible, so we always seek out those stones that are of the highest quality and in their closest natural state.
For a long time, it was quite challenging to get our hands on a reliable source of quality natural crystals and gemstones where alterations and enhancements were none or very minimal. We go through great efforts to source gemstones and crystals that come directly from cutters that work with raw Earth material and consistently show a high level of integrity and honesty in their business practices. We also aim for acquiring the stones from their country of origin when possible.
The gemstone and crystal cutters we primarily deal with sell only natural stones and or will clearly state whenever there are any alterations or enhancements. We hold this standard for our own business practice as well. Just as we always wanted a reliable and honest source of natural gemstone accessories, we want to be that trustworthy source for you, so you can feel assured that you are getting top notch accessories that are exactly what they are being advertised as.

If your beaded gemstone bracelet, necklace or anklet ever needs restringing, we will do so, free of cost at any time during the life of the product. You need to pay only shipping.
For our Crystal Point Necklaces, Bracelets, Treasure Keepers etc., which involve weaving of hemp or macrame cord, we may need to charge a fee for repairs if the damage was not through any fault of our own, however members pay for such services at premium prices.

If the item is available, we ship within 1 to 7 business days. Depending on where in the world you are and the type of shipping you chose, most orders will arrive within 1 to 4 weeks on average. All orders ship from Japan, so the rough estimation can be calculated by checking out your postal site for details on how long it will take to reach you in your country. For custom made orders or out of stock items, message us for specific quotes.

Unlike many other companies which will use shipping costs as a chance to charge you extra hidden fees by raising the shipping price, we promise we will not profit on your shipping charges and will only charge you more or less exactly what we will pay to ship to you. More or less means the price is rounded off by the system so sometimes you may get it slightly cheaper and other times the price will be slightly higher. If the stretch band or rope of a beaded accessory breaks, you can send it back to us at any time for a free restringing. All you need to do is pay shipping there and back.
If a piece woven by macrame cording breaks for some reason, in most cases we can remake it for you for a fee.

We are a small business that makes each of our products by hand and does not use production lines or machines to mass produce anything. We put time, attention and love into everything we make. In addition to that, we energetically purify each piece we sell. This makes it difficult to make our products available in large quantities or for wholesale prices. We feel it is very important to know if the crystals and gemstones we are wearing are genuine natural gemstones or not. If the crystals are to be worn for the intention of healing or life enhancement, then it is especially important. We do our absolute honest best to be sure that all of our crystal and gemstone pieces are 100 percent what we say they are.
We honestly try our very best to ensure that every single crystal or gemstone piece we sell is 100 percent in its natural state and has ideally received no treatments, dyes or enhancements. If this is not possible, then we will state it clearly in the product info box under each item in our online catalog.
Many crystals and gemstones can be found relatively effortlessly in their original natural state. However, for some types such as turquoise and jade it can be a real challenge to source quality genuine specimens. There is a sea of fakes out there to swim through and honestly, sometimes even we get fooled. However, we have attempted to eliminate this danger by dealing strictly with the gemstone cutters themselves that have a reputation for honest business practices and openly make a significant effort to maintain the standard of nature.
We always do our best to stick to 100% natural and keeping our products as close to its natural state as possible. For most crystals and gemstones, this is relatively easy to do. However, for some crystals and gemstones such as turquoise or azurite malachite etc., they are often stabilized or treated to make them possible to be used for jewelry and daily wear. When this is the case, we will clearly state this in the info box under the product listing.

In recent years it has become increasingly challenging to find quality natural turquoise at reasonable prices. Many of the old turquoise mines have been exhausted resulting in both its increasing rarity and highly inflated prices. We would never consciously use fake turquoise such as dyed Howlite, Magnesite, nor lab created artificial fakes in our accessories. The turquoise beads we use for our Gemstone Beaded Necklaces, Bracelets and Anklets are of the highest grade of jeweler reconstructed turquoise we can find. It is made from real turquoise powder that has been stabilized and often color enhanced, offering a beautiful stone that we feel still retains much of the energetic properties of turquoise sourced from nature. There is no clear time frame to how long the cord will hold up. In our direct experience, we have often seen both last for years with daily use. However, depending on the frequency and intensity of wear in addition to water exposure and climate conditions, this could vary greatly from one user to the next. If you find the cord of your beaded accessory does not hold up, don’t worry… just contact us for a free restringing! You only need to pay shipping costs to us and back.
We would highly recommend avoiding the exposure of your crystals and gemstones to any type of cosmetics, lotions, perfumes, hairspray, chemicals etc. as they could damage the physical appearance of them. The softer and more porous the stone, the more likely this is to be true.
If the crystal or gemstone is higher on the MOHS scale for hardness, then just simply washing it with soap and water would easily clean it. However, for further information regarding each individual stone, please see the care instructions listed on our crystal properties page.

In general, we would advise not wearing your crystals and gemstones while swimming in a pool due to the presence of chlorine and other chemicals that could damage the physical appearance of the crystal. Although some stones may be safe to wear in a pool, please do so only at your own discretion.
Although there are no guarantees, in general, brief exposure to water for any of our pieces made with either nylon macrame cord or hemp rope should not cause any major damage to the cording or rope material. Try to avoid extended water exposure and water which has a high percentage of chemicals or chlorine in, it as this may cause unexpected damage to the jewelry.

Crystals and Gemstones - General Questions
Is a crystal, a gemstone? The answer is yes, and no.
A crystal can be thought of as a raw material. Naturally occurring crystals are harvested from the earth. The difference between a crystal and a gemstone can be compared to the difference between a tree and a piece of furniture. The tree is the raw material created by the forces of nature. Once it is harvested, it is cut into smaller pieces and these smaller pieces are used to make an unlimited number of products that we use every day, like houses, furniture, boats and baseball bats. A crystal can be used as it occurs naturally for decoration, healing and spiritual purposes. The crystal can also be cut into smaller pieces by skilled craftsmen and made into beads, fashioned gemstones or even carved into objects for art or personal adornment.
A fashioned gemstone can be defined as a mineral that has rarity, beauty, durability and desirability. Its value is related to a combination of all of these factors, but ultimately there must be a desire for people to own it.
Basically, a crystal is one that has a crystalline structure and may or may not form physical crystals. There are some that do not form physical crystals but are still labeled crystals, this is because internally they still have an atomic crystalline structure. Some of the most common examples of crystal forming crystals are quartz and tourmaline. Ones that do not have a crystalline structure cannot technically be called a crystal even though they may be labeled as such. These are actually labeled as amorphous or that which does not have a crystalline structure. Example of amorphous non-crystalline solids which are usually labeled as crystals are Amber, Chrysocolla, Ivory, Obsidian, Opal and Tektites. Geometry is one of the keys to distinguish the difference between crystal solids and amorphous solids. The atomic structure of crystalline solids has a well-defined geometrical shape whereas amorphous solids do not have a well-defined geometrical shape.
A Gemstone on the other hand can be either crystal or amorphous and has been carved into a specific shape for jewelry making. Examples include, beads, man-carved crystal points, cabochons etc.

In general, when it comes to crystals and gemstones, it is best to listen to your intuition and go with the stones that you feel most drawn to. If you have a chance to hold the crystal, then pay attention to how it makes you feel when you hold it in your hand. Usually, the intuition will be spot on in finding the best stones to benefit and suit you.

There is no single answer that can be given to everyone. Some people will need to wear certain crystals extensively for longer periods of time while others may only need a brief time of wearing them to achieve the same effects. Sensitivity and awareness can be cultivated by paying attention to how one feels with and without the stones and by wearing them on and off and observing the difference it makes.
In herbal medicine and energetic healing practices, we notify when there is a lack of certain types of energy and sedate when there is too much of certain types of energy in the system. The use of crystals and gemstones can be applied in a similar way. The key is learning when to add and when to take away. This is a personal balance and can only be learned through self-discovery with self-observation.
For example, if you are weak and wear a crystal that strengthens you, then it may be beneficial to wear it for extended periods of time until you start feeling better. But if you are already strong energetically and wear certain crystals that strengthen you then there is a chance that at times, they may make you feel irritated or restless.
When it comes to health matters and if you are trying to heal a condition or a sickness then it could be that the more you wear it the better, at least until the condition has improved. However, it really depends on the crystal or gemstone you are using, so again one needs to be aware of how a stone is making them feel.
Another factor to consider is that many crystals and gemstones remove negative or harmful energy from its wearer, copy patterns of energy from its environment and can even get tired if it has been overused. The answer to this question is again really relative to the individual user and the gemstones in question. For the average person who sleeps like a log, it may be perfectly acceptable to wear your crystals or gemstones to bed with no problem. However, since certain crystals and gemstones are very stimulating and could potentially disrupt the length and quality of your sleep, it may be best to experiment with them and if you notice such things happening, then make it a habit to take them off before bed.
On the other hand. Bedtime can be an excellent time to take advantage of that long stretch of rest time to use certain crystals for healing, enhancement or balancing purposes. You can safely experiment with most crystals but just keep conscious of the effects you notice from your stones and then find the best balance for their use in your life.
In contrast to this, many people like to use nighttime as a great chance to charge and cleanse their crystals and gemstones they have worn all day, by leaving them on a selenite plate, large crystal cluster, in exposure to moonlight etc.
With regular usage, your crystals and gemstones will naturally accumulate an energy buildup of a type that may reduce the effectiveness and purity of their energy signature. It is important to do frequent if not daily energetic cleansing on them in order to ensure that they remain effective and harmoniously aligned with you. We find that although it is true without question that crystals and gemstones have certain effects and properties, it is almost impossible to make a distinct claim or promise about each one.
Certain crystals tend to have a clear effect in a specific direction for most people, but it is never a guarantee for all and really depends on a variety of factors. It is important for each individual to be able to keenly and honestly observe themselves, their state of energy, clarity of perception and health condition on a day-to-day basis. Then one can recognize the effect that adding or taking away a certain variable will have on them.
To answer this question, we must first understand that each person has their own energetic signature. This signature is based on how they live, their state of mind, emotions and environment. Every situation in life is a soup of differing energies that come together at that point in time. A body of energy, whether it is in a flesh and blood form or a solid inanimate object form will influence or be influenced by the other bodies of energy it comes in contact with each moment. The result of the contact between two bodies of energy is there will be some change in both to some degree on some level.
The possessions of an individual accumulate an energy imprint from repeated exposure to that person. If not, there is a possibility of the crystal either influencing the other person in a negative way or acquiring an undesirable energetic buildup from the person it was given to. Certain crystals and gemstones such as obsidian are traditionally said to develop a deep bond with its wearer to such an extent that they should never be shared or given to any other person.
The main variable in being able to discover the true honest effect that a crystal or gemstone has on a person is directly related to the degree of life sensitivity that individual has cultivated. This is a deep subject that could take up volumes, so to keep it simple we will give a brief experiment.
When a person keeps a regular schedule for an extended time, simplifies and regulates their eating habits, social contacts, activities and mental balance, their life energies will stabilize and become easier to read, predict and organize. So first, finding a stable balance in one’s life at least to some degree would be very helpful. Once one’s mind and body seem to be keeping to regular predictable patterns, then it is acceptable to add a new variable and see the changes that occur.
Start wearing the new crystal or gemstone accessory for a pre-determined set of time. For example, you may have purchased a new quartz bracelet. Wear it every day for 1 month and see if you can notice any effects that were not there before. Maybe you used to crash at the end of the day and have to be in bed by 11pm, but now you find yourself with more energy at the end of the day and don’t crash as hard. Or perhaps you find yourself calmer and more optimistic in situations where that would have never happened before. Or it may be more effective to have an even bigger gap between the on and off days. Let’s say, on for three days, and off for three days. Or on for a week and off for a week. Sometimes a larger gap makes the effects more obvious. Just be strict and regular with the pre-decided pattern and stick to it for some time. Most people can clearly see and measure certain types of effects in this way. If not, then it becomes even more important to cultivate a higher amount of life sensitivity and awareness which is never a bad idea!
